A local restaurant recently got a renovation and a breath of new life from an unexpected source. Fresno State students studying about food production decided to take the place of Fresno, California remodeling contractors and help an aging restaurant. The class of 35 students replaced the furniture, art, and even the menu, filling the empty seats with fresh customers. But beyond remodeling the Fresno eatery’s look, they also created a new logo and started an advertising campaign using social networking. While it’s too soon to determine the overall success of the project, one measure of their achievement is the invitation the students received from another restaurant owner to help revive his business as well.
