The recently completed remodeling of a Glendale, California elementary school library is restoring some of the fondness children have lost towards books in the digital age. With a simple reorganization and creation of a kid-friendly environment, students are spending more time in the library than ever before. According to parents involved in the planning of the project, the goal was to reinvent the culture of the library at the school. After raising $40,000, the school contacted Glendale remodeling contractors and moved the library from an old bungalow on the edge of the campus to the main building, and replaced the shelving and furniture. New books and computers were bought, and the school found that the students are each spending at least 45 minutes a week in the new library.
