Akron, Ohio remodeling contractors and volunteers recently began repairing a special needs camp in the area. The Akron Rotary Camp serves almost 2,000 children a year with developmental disabilities like autism and Down syndrome, as well as physical illnesses like spina bifita and cerebral palsy. For a countless number of Saturdays over the past year, members of the Homebuilders Association and others have been working on the site’s cabins. The construction is part of a $3.5 million remodeling project, which Akron Rotray Club Director Dan Reynolds says is just the beginning. Next year construction will begin on a new recreation center, and the old one will be tore down to provide more green space.
